Coming back to blogging -- this time for dolls

I blogged years ago, but quit and deleted my blog when I started getting busy with other things. We moved several years ago. One child was very very sick for a long time. We built an addition. The eldest child graduated from college. The youngest child was insanely busy with high school activities, graduated and left for college. We lost my father-in-law. We acquired four cats. We bought and renovated a small historic building in our community and opened a computer repair shop and a sewing maker space in it. My husband served our community as mayor for four years. I got very involved with community organizations, including writing a weekly column for the local paper. Life has been busy.
I kept sewing though. I don't sew as much human sized clothing as I used to -- I sewed most of my girls' wardrobes as well as my own. Instead, I have moved to sewing for dolls, both the 18" companion dolls and the 11" fashion dolls. I love them. I never quite grew out of my dolls. I have only one of my childhood dolls -- a pillow doll named Elizabeth that my mother sewed for me for my 7th birthday. She is a little worse for wear and needs a little reconstructive surgery, but she is still my best loved doll.

I have several 18" dolls, some belonged to my youngest and others I picked up from thrift or discount stores. I have mostly sewed for them over the past year. I also have a couple of boxes full of fashion dolls that I have picked up from thrift stores over the past couple of years. I can usually find naked dolls in the broken toy bin for a nickle or quarter. They need love and new wardrobes.
I've missed blogging. I used to blog at sewpaula.blogspot.com, but it turns out that once you delete a blog, you can't get it back. I did get my sewpaula.com domain back, so that is cool. Quick posts on social media is fun, but there is no room for long commentary on what I did, what worked and what didn't. I have a lot of dolls to dress and I want to log every thing that I do. I I plan to write about my favorite projects that I've done over the past year or so as well. This blog will be my journal of refurbishing and sewing for dolls. I hope you join me as I have a little fun.
